We support micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises in the informal sector by publicising, facilitating skills training, business formalization, advisory services, access to markets and soft loans, as well as mentoring and coaching, helping innovative entrepreneurs build healthy businesses, grow, and thrive sustainably.
We promote sustainable tourism (mainly sightseeing/excursions) as a tool for livelihoods and conservation, and part of the organisation's financial sustainability. We develop opportunities for local communities through eco-tourism, cultural preservation and nature-based tourism, which also help protect heritage and our environment.
We encourage and advance innovation in agriculture and agribusiness by promoting agritech adoption such as irrigation systems, digital platforms, and post-harvest solutions. We also encourage youth participation in agribusiness and green jobs, strengthening food security and creating economic opportunities.
On 30 September 2024, an innovation fair was organised in the Ketu South Municipality by the Volta Regional branch of International Needs Ghana, in collaboration with PRiSM INSIGHT CONSULT and EMPACT REACH LBG, to support and identify youth - led business innovators. The fair, led by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) with support from the MasterCard Foundation and International Needs Ghana as the implementing partner, also placed significant emphasis on female entrepreneurs and people with disabilities.
The fair provided an opportunity to tap into the economic potential, generate jobs and enhance the innovation ecosystem in the Volta Region. UNDP spearheaded this effort in partnership with the MasterCard Foundation and International Needs Ghana as a key implementing partner.
The programme aimed to build a scalable ecosystem for nurturing innovative, youth-led solutions. Targeting 200 young people (140 women and 60 men) aged 18 to 35, the project emphasised inclusivity by ensuring representation of persons with disabilities, rural youth, and other marginalised groups. By empowering MSMEs driven by our young, innovative leaders, the programme contributed to sustainable local economic growth and advanced economic empowerment.
In December 2023, some innovative entrepreneurs from the Ketu South Municipality were supported to scale up their businesses for livelihoods and economic empowerment through the UNDP–ABSA District Innovation Challenge for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), facilitated by EMPRETEC Ghana, Commodities Investments Ghana Limited (CIGL), and sublet to EMPACT REACH LBG through the Business Advisory Centre office at Denu in the Municipality.
The beneficiaries included Ms Loyal Kolani Abla from Royal Olanni Enterprise, Madam Faustina Aga Anani from Agacious Ventures and Mrs Agnes Nkansah from Ebe Foods, among others. All of them were given financial assistance and technical assistance to expand operations, boost production capacity, and generate employment opportunities in their communities. This project provided MSMEs with the tools to grow and proved the power of investing in entrepreneurial innovation and capacity building at the grassroots level.
