While he was a team member of The Be Bold Show, a Ghanaian television talk show that promoted education, leadership, and development, Mr. Reginald Adjei vowed to establish a not-for-profit organization in the future that would holistically, and primarily focus on SDGs 3, 6, 2, 1, 8, 4, 5, 10, 13, 15, 7, 16, 11, & 17 to serve and make a direct impact, especially in grassroots communities.
Since then, he has predominantly worked in the public sector, most notably as a Development Planner and Project Manager for sustainable development after years of study and training. His experience with the Ketu South Municipal Assembly and the Ghana Enterprises Agency at both the central and municipal levels opened his eyes to the deprivations and opportunities that coexisted, especially in the Volta Region. The most striking example is Ketu South, a municipality near Lomé, the capital of Togo, and 4 hours' drive from Accra. It is strategically located, yet it faces high levels of multidimensional poverty and limited access to opportunities for its large population.
After years of living and volunteering in this underserved area, it became clear that very few nonprofit organizations existed, and none were focused on genuine, sustainable development that addresses the interconnected issues of health, livelihoods, environment, and community governance in support of government initiatives. Extreme poverty persisted, also meaning animals, which were central to local livelihoods, did not receive the conscious care they needed to coexist with people. This situation not only affected household income and nutrition but also threatened community health and the environment. These gaps revealed a possibility and a duty to act, resulting from frustrations and a vision that manifested as EMPACT REACH LBG in 2025.
Including humanitarian services, at the core of everything we do is a deep commitment to the most vulnerable: women and girls, who deserve empowerment, protection, and opportunities to lead; underserved men and boys, who face barriers in education, livelihoods, and well-being that are often overlooked; persons with disabilities (PWDs), whose rights and dignity must be recognized and upheld; and animals, especially pets. By emphasizing equity and inclusion, we develop programs and projects that unlock potential, reduce disparities, and foster lasting change beyond boundaries, transforming communities and lives, ensuring that no one is left behind.
At EMPACT REACH LBG, we believe sustainable development is a duty we must fulfill. Our work is driven by the desire to play an active role in advancing the United Nations Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a primary focus on endogenous planning and development, ensuring locally driven and inclusive growth.
Every day, vulnerable women and girls, underserved men and boys, and disadvantaged people with disabilities face issues that undermine their dignity and constrain their potential. Additionally, animals essential to livelihoods, nutrition, and health are often disregarded by their owners, which has consequences for families and the environment. These are the reasons we act with urgency and compassion.
Our integrated intervention programs not only address community needs but also build resilience and empowerment by encouraging participation in planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. Rather than working in silos, we coordinate and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure integrated planning and development at the municipal and district levels, enabling the transfer of implicit and tacit knowledge and creating ripple effects that foster transformation at the grassroots.
Sustainable change requires partnerships, collaboration, and the active engagement of key stakeholders who share our vision, which is why I welcome you to join us in serving disadvantaged communities near and far, where both people and animals can thrive. Whether as a volunteer, partner, donor, or advocate, we would be fortunate to connect with impact makers to learn from your meaningful work in transforming lives.
